About the Office
Our office staff is dedicated to making your contact with us as pleasant as possible. We feel that it will be helpful for you to be familiar with our office procedures.
Patients making an initial appointment should explain the nature of their problem so that our staff can allow an appropriate amount of time for the consultation. Please help us to arrange to have related medical records, x-rays, and laboratory test results available at the time of your visit. We ask that you provide us with a telephone number which can be used to reach you up until the time of your appointment. In this way, we can inform you of scheduling delays and changes that emergencies and surgical schedules may make necessary.
Insurance & Billing
We participate in Medicare and most major health care plans. Our office staff will bill your insurance plan for your visit. If your insurance plan requires a co-pay, please be prepared to pay at the time of your visit. If you are required to have a referral from your primary care physician, please arrange for this to be sent prior to your visit.
We ask that you discuss matters of financial hardship with our Office Manager so that appropriate arrangements can be made. We feel that access to medical care is vital and should not be based on financial considerations.
Contacting the Office
Calls concerning scheduling, billing inquiries and prescription refills should be made during our regular business hours, Monday - Friday from 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00. Routine calls requiring your physician's reply will generally be returned in the afternoon during or upon completion of office hours. If your call is urgent, please inform our office staff so that one of our doctors can be contacted immediately.
In the event an urgent problem develops after the close of office hours, call 860.643.2731 and inform our answering service of your name, telephone number, and the nature of your problem. They will promptly notify the physician on-call who will contact you. If you feel that you cannot wait for a return call, then you may go to the Emergency Department of the nearest hospital and they can then contact us.
